Changes happening now in the world’s oceans are expected to have profound impacts on ecosystems, fisheries, Indigenous and coastal communities, particularly in the Northwest Atlantic. This raises an urgent call for social and natural scientists to collaboratively translate research into useful information for policy, law, and governance. We will incorporate the projected impacts of climate change in the NWA through the BCP to (1) assess Canada’s responses to climate change both nationally and at the regional level of the NWA, (2) identify opportunities for collaboration with fisheries authorities and Indigenous groups (including youth), and (3) collaborate on meetings and programming to share the scientific projections from our research to inform adaptation planning with Nunatsiavut community leaders, government representatives, and other stake-holders.
